Welcome

The land for Pearson Park was bought by and given to the people of Kingston upon Hull by Zachariah Charles Pearson, in 1860, when he was the Lord Mayor. The park is very beautiful, a little gem, bordering on the Avenues and Dukeries area of West Hull.

Our aim, as Friends of Pearson Park, is to make the park more attractive, enjoyable and educational: a place of social harmony.

Through our website, we hope to provide information about the Park to the Friends and members of the public. Please click on the links on the left hand side of this site to find out more about us.

Annual membership is only £2 and besides supporting this beautiful and historic park, you also receive a copy of our quarterly newsletter (back issues are available here) and are entitled to vote at meetings of the Friends of Pearson Park, which take place bi-monthly at The Pearson Park Hotel.

New members are always welcome and members are encouraged to attend all our meetings.

Meetings are held bi-monthly, usually on the first Monday of the month at 7pm at The Pearson Park Hotel.

The next meeting of the Friends of Pearson Park will be our AGM, held at the Pearson Park Hotel, on Monday, 5 March, 2012 at 7pm.

All are welcome.

We now have 66 paid up members and 6 partner organisations.

It would be great to see you at our meetings.

We have lots of plans for future events, and would love to hear from you - whether by email,or in person.

If you find it difficult to attend our meetings, perhaps you could offer your help by delivering our quarterly newsletter to some of our paid up members, or assisting at one of our events.
